Morning Rays on Sunrise Mountain Road Stokes State Forest, Sussex County, New Jersey
This photo was taken on a recent outing. I quickly jumped out of my car to seize the opportunity of morning sunlight piercing through clearing fog in the forest. The good photo opportunities are always fleeting.
Mule Bridge and Fog Waterloo Village, Byram, New Jersey
On a recent peaceful morning nature walk I was fortunate to capture a bit of fog burning off of the Musconetcong River. Surely this mule bridge is one of the most photographed bridges in Northern New Jersey.
I’ll give pointers on best time of year to visit the region, great Everglades access points to observe wildlife, and info on how to get off the beaten trail in this hotbed of biodiversity.
Thank you to the Somerset County Library System for allowing me to talk about my passion of nature photography. If you have any questions or comments on photography programming email me at email@example.com
American Goldfinch 2009 at Troy Meadows in Parsippany NJ Taken about 11 years ago this was an unusual photo opportunity as the finch was so preoccupied with thistle seeds I was able to walk as close as I’d like for photographs. It’s not often we can walk up to birds at point blank range to snap pictures.
Did you know a Box turtle only roams 1 mile its whole life? If it is removed from its area/home then for the rest of its life it will roam aimlessly stressed out… trying to find “home” until it dies a very sad death. Please do not remove turtles. Do not take them home as pets. If one is injured please mark the exact spot found for the wildlife center. If a turtle is in the road you can help by moving it directly across the street in the direction it was heading. Thank you! Many people think it is harmless to let their children take home a docile turtle to play with and release it someplace they see appropriate. Please share the knowledge.
A rainy afternoon was not looking promising for nature photography until I spied the young Groundhog through my telephoto lens. It was very exciting for me to capture and record this tender moment between mother and child.
